Logan Smith, 27, is being held on $35,000 cash bail after threatening text message to his ex-wife

Los Angeles is running out of water, and time. Are leaders willing to act? The answer is no. The city has a water shortage, its water rates are expected to rise. City leaders, who’ve been in office for decades, are going to talk about it. And that’s just how the water crisis in the city is being communicated. The latest story, released by the water authority late last week, told of a new water line in the city. It read: “The $12 million project will add nearly 250,000 gallons of water to each residential residential customer’s tap daily.” Now, of course, there are only about 1 million residential customers in the city.

LIMESTONE, N.C. (AP) — A North Carolina man accused of sending a threatening text message to his ex-wife is being held on $35,000 cash bail. Logan Smith, 27, of Rockingham County, appeared before a magistrate judge Monday night, charged with making terroristic threats. Court records show Smith had previously worked in the mail room and postal system in Charlotte; in June, he was fired for violating company policy. Authorities say Smith sent a text message on June 12 asking his ex-wife, Jennifer Smith, if she wanted to meet him at the post office. He wanted to “talk about some unfinished business,” and he warned that he had a gun.

A man has been arrested after the death of his ex-girlfriend’s dog, which was reported last week. The woman, a 46-year-old from New Jersey, was reported dead by the local sheriff’s office on July 29, and authorities found the body of the dog, named Penny, the next day. Authorities say the dog was put in a cage to keep it safe and the dog had a broken back, her chest had been crushed and her eyes were bulging out of their sockets.
