When it comes to finding Cheetos, New Orleans has no shortage of offerings.

From street carts in the French Quarter to vending machines in the airport and at sporting events, you’ll find the popular fried snack in all shapes and sizes.

One local businessman says there’s no way to predict what the crowds will pay for them. Another says you can get a free Cheeto at any time during the day.

And then there is our resident Cheetos-eaters. They say they don’t like the price of gas and want you to get one for yourself.

“I’m on the street. I’m just selling it,” said David Smith. “You can get it at any time of the day or the week.”

“I can tell you it’s a great time to sell it,” said Joseph Darnell. “A lot of people are buying and selling.”

While the cost to buy a piece of Cheeto is about $2 each, the price of gas these days is in the double digits. And there’s a good chance the vendor will ask for the price before you even show up.

“They always ask you the price first,” said William Wilson, who manages a restaurant known for its Cheet
