The Morning’s Latest Updates: The Dark Knight Rises

Tim Burton is ‘done’ working with Disney after ‘horrible big circus’ filming ‘Dumbo’ pic.twitter.com/0f1mKZ3IWy — The Sun (@TheSun) March 26, 2017

According to the source, “Burton will not be involved in the upcoming sequel to Dumbo, but is in negotiations for another franchise. This is a major blow for the company, but it’s not the end of things for the talented filmmaker.”

But that’s not all! They’re also working on an untitled horror movie tentatively titled A Nightmare on Elm Street. Additionally, they’re in development on a live-action retelling of Beauty and the Beast, titled Beastly. As for the upcoming live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, they are also actively looking for potential cast members, as the movie is reportedly already looking to make a deal with Tom Hiddleston and Johnny Depp.

The news of all this comes on the same day as the first teaser trailer for the film. It’s directed by John P. Carroll, who wrote and directed the horror-thriller The Innkeepers. It stars Jack Black, who has already been confirmed to play Batman villain Two-Face. The only character from The Dark Knight who can be confirmed as a villain is Bruce Wayne himself, and as a result, there is a chance that we could see some major reshoots for The Dark Knight Rises.

UPDATE: Check out The Morning’s newest updates below.

The official release date for the film is May 10, 2017, though it could be an earlier date.
