Ronaldo says he is not planning to retire after World Cup

Omar Gonzalez has revealed he has not ruled out retirement from football.

The former Real Madrid and Bayern Munich star was speaking after his country’s recent exit from the Africa Cup of Nations.

The former Portugal star has told Spanish TV station La Sexta: “I want to play as long as possible.”

Omar is currently with the Spain under-21 team as it prepares for the next round of the European Championship in France.

“I don’t rule out retirement but I’ll see how things go. In football, you have to work very hard.

“I’ve been close to leaving and now I’m here, and I want to see what happens. I’m enjoying things, I’m enjoying life and I’m happy to be here,” he added.

“At the moment, I’m with the young boys and hopefully I’ll stay with them until the end because I’m here to work.”
